"Hockey Diaries: The Almost Season" is the latest radio documentary in what we hope will be a long-running Hockey Diaries series for the NHL and public radio. This episode is a journey through the 2009-2010 Washington Capitals' season. The story is told through the eyes and ears of two players, forward Mike Knuble and defenseman Tyler Sloan. They share their thoughts through audio diaries, interviews and locker room conversations. Like most good stories, this one is powered by the interesting things that happen when opposites come together: triumph and defeat, success and disappointment, joy and frustration, belief and doubt. There are thoughts and scenes and sounds that we hope will connect you with the story when you listen – whether you're a Capitals fan, or a hockey fan, or just a sports fan. We're looking forward to hearing your feedback. Also check out our Hockey Diaries coverage of the 2010 and 2011 NHL Winter Classics, and short features on NPR. Thanks for listening. – producers Chris Nelson and Gemma Hooley
